Any young person, girl or boy, in Grade 4 or higher, may become a server.
The primary role of the altar server is to assist the priest in the celebration of the Mass. This is done through specific actions: by setting an example for the congregation; by active participation in the liturgy (hymns, responses, etc.); by ‘looking alert’; and by sitting or standing at the appropriate times.

This Year …
… two altar servers from our parish received the Bishop’s Award for Service from Bishop Crosby during the Annual Altar Servers Awards Ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King. We offer our sincere thanks and congratulations to the following servers for the honour they received:
Isabella Mayne
Ethan Shannon
Each year, altar servers from parishes throughout the Brant, Halton and Hamilton Deaneries are selected for this special recognition in light of their dedication, sense of responsibility and display of leadership in the performance of their duties.
The parish is truly grateful to all of its altar servers for their participation at the celebration of Mass and other ceremonies beyond Mass through the Church year.

When required, this committee assists families in planning the funeral liturgy for their loved ones.
Children’s Liturgy (Sunday School)
The Children’s Liturgy is worship suitably adapted for young children. Each Sunday during the school year, at the 11:00 am Mass, children may join their peers to learn about God and themselves in a way they understand. A few minutes are spent explaining and talking about the Gospel: the older children are encouraged to take part in the discussion by answering simple questions. Pictures and and relevant crafts are provided as well.
Choirs
Volunteers who are willing to enhance the liturgy musically. We have three different choirs, one for each Mass.
- Saturday, 5pm
- Sunday, 9am
- Sunday, 11am
We are always looking for volunteers who love to sing, and who would like to help us bring musical life the liturgy of the Mass. Contact the church during regular office hours, at 905-560-1551, for more information.
Even if you cannot dedicate Saturdays or Sundays to a choir, at Christmas and Easter we have an open invitation to join a combined choir. Call for details.
